Solus: Technology to Help with Peace of Mind on DeveloperSmackdown #49

Saturday, May 21st, 2011

In this episode we got a little serious and talk to Nick Pearson, Mike Price and Nishanth Samala about an application they are working on to help friends and loved ones use targeted communications when a medical “situation” make things exceedingly difficult.

Not only did we get serious but we also got very personal as we shared some real experiences of the Smackdown hosts to drive home some of the real benefits of this type of technology.

Nokia and WP7–This Sounds Like Good News To Me

Friday, February 11th, 2011

I use to love my Nokia phone back in the day – I now love my WP7 which happens to be made by Samsung.  Now that Microsoft and Nokia have teamed up I am very anxious to see what becomes of this marriage.  It sounds like it really could help push the use of my new favorite phone and create new opportunities for the whole WP7/Nokia ecosystem and marketplace.

One of the things I used to love about my “ancient” Nokia phone was that it was so simple to use AND I had one of those clips on my belt so I could reach down, hit the release with my thumb and be talking in a matter of 2 seconds.  It made me look soooo important with that phone on my belt as I walked around the office.  Ahh, to bring back the good ole days!

I sure hope they don’t change things too much.
